In pursuit of our mission,
we work with national societies as well as established experts around the world
to offer educational courses customized to the scientific/medical needs, cultures
and learning styles of target participants.
We focus primarily on developing
countries. However, we also organize and/or
sponsor educational courses in industrialized countries.
From an interactive module
on epidemiology in Minas Gerais, Brazil; to an international symposium on atherosclerosis, thrombosis and
transfusion medicine in Bangalore, India; to a laboratory course in San Jose,
Costa Rica; to an advanced training course in Cascais, Portugal,
we are continually creating
partnerships to build capacity and lead self-sustaining scientific and
educational efforts in dozens of countries worldwide.
We
support approved educational courses by:
- Offering guidance on program development
- Engaging key international speakers for
proposed courses
- Covering expenses that would not be covered
otherwise, such as speakers’ airfare and accommodations
- Promoting courses
