The All Congress Party is always the talk of the town, and you really don’t want to miss out! We have something special planned for you in Toronto – a smashing evening on the penultimate day of the congress at the nightclub MUZIK, which has developed a reputation for style and unsurpassed service. Relaxing in a 1907 building under a 60 foot-high classical glass dome is an experience that one could describe as “a Canadian In Paris."
And the climax of the evening will be the performance of the rock band Barenaked Ladies!
Their biography states, “Among the truths we hold to be self-evident are these: Canadian bands can play their asses off, and they can also bring the funny. No outfit hailing from north of the border embodies these paired virtues more engagingly than the Barenaked Ladies, whose fusion of hooks and yuks has resulted in more than 14 million albums sold, with numerous fans around the world.”
The band has won 8 Juno Awards, 4 MuchMusic Video Awards, 2 Billboard Music Awards, a World Music Award and they have been nominated twice for Grammy Awards. Barenaked Ladies are strong proponents for a clean environment and they live according to their ideology with recycling of backstage materials and touring with biodiesel as fuel. Barenaked Ladies are the artists behind the theme tune for the beloved comedy series, “The Big Bang Theory” and worked with Commander Chris Hadfield on the official song for Music Monday, “Is Somebody Singing.”
In addition, the evening will offer other entertainment, food specialties from multicultural, diverse Toronto, and of course… dancing!
