ISTH Appoints Louise Bannon as Marketing and Communications Manager

CHAPEL HILL, NC, USA, Dec. 10, 2012

The International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis (ISTH) announces the appointment of Ms. Louise Bannon to the newly created position of Marketing and Communications Manager. Bannon has worked in a diverse set of environments and organizations with a strong specialization in and passion for working in the health care, medical and scientific areas. Most notable are her engagement with the American Red Cross, where she was a national disaster spokesperson, and her various roles at Fleishman-Hillard International Communications, a leading worldwide public relations communications agency.

In her position, Bannon will utilize her vast experience to build an overarching marketing and communications strategy to effectively communicate and market ISTH’s value proposition to a global audience. Her engagement will allow the organization to consider new and different ways to share the mission and embrace strategic objectives to inform, educate and build awareness. Furthermore, Bannon will provide her expertise to increase attendance to ISTH’s congresses and meetings which attract between 1,500 and 10,000 attendees around the world annually, as well as with other scientific and educational programs.

An accomplished communications and marketing professional, Bannon possesses 12 years of experience working with non-profit and for-profit organizations to deliver high performance infrastructures to address complex business needs and expectations. Her experience includes media relations, internal/external marketing program development and cross-cultural communications to diverse audiences. A hands-on leader, recognized for successful strategies and creativity, Bannon is also a member of the Public Relations Society of America, International Association of Business Communicators and a dedicated community volunteer with the American Red Cross, early childhood organizations and the nationally recognized Nurse-Family Partnership.
