Education Course in Argentina Attracts Hundreds
Monday, November 3, 2014
September 26-27, the Argentine Cooperative Group on Haemostasis and Thrombosis (CAHT Group) hosted an ISTH Education Course for 788 participants. The event, which took place at the Catholic University Convention Center in Buenos Aires, focused on two areas: “the role of the hematologist in the management of stroke” and “direct oral anticoagulants in the real world and for the real patient.”
This successful event followed the XI Congress of the CAHT Group, and drew solid reviews from participants, 99 percent of whom rated the quality of the course as “high” or “very high.”
“The course provided the audience with the possibility to update important topics in daily practice, and discuss real-life situations with the faculty,” said Dr. Patricia Casais, President of the CAHT Group. “In addition, since access to continuing education varies greatly within the country, it was a great opportunity for the local and regional community.”
Participants visited from all over Central and South America including Uruguay, Chile, Peru, Paraguay, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador and Brazil.
This is the third ISTH-sponsored event hosted by the CAHT since 2011, and the participation continues to grow. “The response of the local scientific community to these events is remarkable,” Casais said. “The number of attendees increased each year and the satisfaction with the courses was always very high.”
