Researchers at Maastricht University are working on a project titled, "Secondary prevention strategies in venous thromboembolism: what determines treatment duration?"
From researcher Vincent ten Cate:
The duration of preventive treatment of VTE remains a contentious point of debate. Although many physicians follow the CHEST guidelines to determine treatment length, increasing evidence suggests that there is substantial disparity in this regard between physicians.
We have developed an experimental vignette survey, geared to specialists involved in the treatment of VTE to establish what lies at the root of this variance. We are still enlisting respondents for our survey on VTE recurrence prevention.
Participate in the survey at vte-survey.com. It takes less than 10 minutes to complete and will help researchers better understand VTE recurrence prevention strategies.
