The 2014 SSC Annual Meeting, held June 23-26, 2014, in Milwaukee, was attended by close to 1,500 people from around the world. With attendees representing more than 60 countries, they enjoyed an array of Educational sessions and a Plenary Session with notable speakers. SSC Subcommittee sessions featured the latest SSC discussions of diagnostic standards, disease nomenclature and classification and more than 300 abstracts were submitted. Those selected provided engaging poster and oral presentations during the meeting.
In celebration of 60 years of meetings, the SSC of the ISTH held a fun evening at the beautiful Discovery World Museum complete with Native American performance and dance, delicious food, music and a special celebratory firework display to conclude the festivities.
We would like to thank all attendees, exhibitors, supporters, and sponsors of SSC 2014. It is the hope of the local organizing committee as well as the ISTH that the momentum and energy of the meeting will continue and inspire everyone to stay connected, continue to build and nurture new relationships and engage in the Society through its educational offerings, upcoming meetings and membership.
