Marco Cattaneo

Marco Cattaneo, MD, is Director of the Unit of Internal Medicine, Ospedale San Paolo, Dipartimento di Scienze della Salute, Università degli Studi di Milano, Italy.

He graduated at the Medical School of Università degli Studi di Milano in 1975 and spoecialized in Hematology at Università di Pavia, Italy, in 1978. He was Post-Doctoral Fellow (1979-1981) and Visting Scientist (1983) at McMaster University, Hamilton (ONT), and Visiting Scientist at The Scripps Research Institute , La Jolla (CA) in 2000-2001. His reasearch is mostly focused on the pathophysiology of platelet fucntion and on the pjharmacology of antiplatelet agents.

Caterina Casari

Caterina Casari (34, France/USA) is an Italian molecular biologist. She obtained her Ph.D. in Italy, finished her first postdoctoral position in Paris, France, and in 2014, moved to North Carolina, USA, for a second postdoctoral position at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. Her areas of research interest include von Willebrand Disease, particularly von Willebrand Disease type 2B, and other thrombocytopenias. She has been a member of the ISTH Early Career Task Force since the ISTH meeting in Amsterdam, 2013. Being a member of the Early Career Task force, she enjoys being able to exchange ideas with people from different countries, with different background and experiences. She hopes to be involved with more early career professionals in ISTH and in Early Career Task Force projects.
