The Webinar, titled, “von Willebrand Disease: New Insights,” will be led by notable speakers David Lillicrap (Queen’s University, Kingston, Canada) and Jeroen Eikenboom (Leiden University Medical Center, The Netherlands), with the objective to better prepare participants for the diagnosis and management of VWD. CME credits will also be available to those who participate.

The presentation will cover:

  • Fundamental knowledge of von Willebrand (VWD) factor structure and function.
  • Consideration of the molecular genetic pathology responsible for each of the subtypes of VWD.
  • Translational insights into the molecular basis of VWD disease and a review of advances made.
  • Discussion of future lines of investigation required to enhance our pathogenetic understanding.
  • How to make diagnosis and to manage treatment of patients with VWD disease.
  • Focus on the history of bleeding, including the value of bleeding assessment tools and bleeding scores, the laboratory tests required for diagnosis.

At the end of the presentation, participants will be more knowledgeable and better prepared for the diagnosis and management of VWD!
