You're invited to the ISTH Workshop on Platelets in Valencia, Spain, September 7-8, 2018. This workshop is designed to offer training in the latest developments in platelets. The event will take place at Jardi Botànic de la Universitat de València.


Target Audience:

  • early career professionals
  • trainees in hemostasis, hematology, transfusion medicine, vascular medicine, or intensive care medicine,
  • a Ph.D. wishing to acquire clinical and basic knowledge in the field, or
  • a senior hematologist looking for an update.

Objectives:

  1. Develop an understanding of the latest developments in the field of platelets

  2. Participate in interactive sessions dealing with example clinical cases

  3. Have the opportunity to network with leading experts in the field of thrombosis and hemostasis, benefiting from the small training size

Spain is part of the Schengen area and allows visa free travel from the European Union, Iceland, Norway and Sweden. Citizens of many other countries may also visit for up to 90 days without obtaining a visa. Please check your visa requirements prior to travel to Spain to confirm your specific visa needs.

Accreditation: 

The ISTH-SETH Workshop on Platelets, Valencia, Spain, 07/09/2018-08/09/2018 has been accredited by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME®) with 16 European CME credits (ECMEC®s). Each medical specialist should claim only those hours of credit that he/she actually spent in the educational activity.

Through an agreement between the Union Européenne des Médecins Spécialistes and the American Medical Association, physicians may convert EACCME® credits to an equivalent number of AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM. Information on the process to convert EACCME® credit to AMA credit can be found at www.ama-assn.org/education/earn-credit-participation-international-activities.

Live educational activities, occurring outside of Canada, recognised by the UEMS-EACCME® for ECMEC®s are deemed to be Accredited Group Learning Activities (Section 1) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification Program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
