Hemostasis and Malignancy

This Subcommittee is focused on the spectrum of clinical disorders of hemostasis in malignancy, including venous and arterial thromboembolism, and bleeding. The Subcommittee comprises of members from diverse backgrounds and disciplines including hematologists, oncologists, surgeons, pulmonologists, epidemiologists, and translational and basic scientists.

  • To create an atmosphere and culture of collaboration between investigators and clinicians from different disciplines and backgrounds, leading to a focus on priority areas related to the field of hemostasis and malignancy
  • To develop, organize and execute collaborative studies as a result of interdisciplinary collaboration and prioritization including clinical and laboratory standards and methods
  • To educate members of the ISTH and the broader medical community on issues of clinical significance, with an emphasis on patient-centered outcomes
  • To examine existing data, identify areas of unmet need and provide clinical guidance to the medical community
  • To develop, publish and disseminate reports that result from the activities listed above
