E-NEWSLETTER February 2015

Will You Be a Part of the Most Significant and Informative Gathering of Year?

Register for ISTH 2015 before March 11 and Save!

Thank you to everyone around the globe who has already registered for ISTH 2015 or submitted one of the 2800 abstracts we received. There are many great reasons to attend the ISTH 2015 Congress in Toronto (watch the video to the right), but the best reason is to join the largest international gathering of the leading scientists and physicians in the fields of thrombosis and hemostasis and exchange the latest science in order to provide better outcomes for patients around the world.

With that goal in mind, ISTH 2015 will offer Plenary Sessions featuring an impressive group of international speakers, including: Paul Kubes (Canada), Eugene Braunwald (USA), David Ginsburg (USA), Stefanie Dimmeler (Germany) and Brian McCrindle (Canada). Additionally, the State-of-the-Art program offers a variety of opportunities to learn from more than 50 leading scientists on dozens of topics. View the complete program here.

Don’t Wait! The Congress may not be until June 20-25, but the early registration deadline is March 11. By registering early, you enjoy significantly reduced registration rates (hundreds of dollars in some cases) and the ability to reserve your preferential hotel accommodation. And if you become a member of the ISTH, you could save even more! Register now!

Travel grants are available through the Young Investigator Awards and the Reach-the-World Awards. Learn more about these awards.

Many thanks to our industry partners for their confirmed support of ISTH 2015 as supporters and exhibitors. See our Toronto sponsors and partners here.

Two Things to Complete Now That Your Abstract is Submitted

From Sam Schulman, Congress President

So, you submitted your abstract – or abstracts – to the ISTH 2015 Congress. But, you cannot relax completely. Two important agenda items remain for the next few weeks for most of you:

1) Register for the Congress, and do so before March 11 or you will have to pay a significantly higher fee. My advice – do not wait until the last day because you may forget or other problems may prevent you from registering. Interest rates are at a record low, so you really have nothing to gain by waiting with the registration payment. Also, if you are not yet a member of ISTH, look at the membership fee and add it up with the registration fee. You will find that the sum of the two is still less than the registration for non-members. Financially, it is common sense to become a member before registering for the Congress. Plus, you will gain access to additional Society benefits!

2) Start making travel arrangements. The longer you wait, the more expensive the plane tickets become. Make sure you use the promotion code for airline travel. You could get up to a 20 percent discount with Star Alliance flights. Finally, make your hotel reservation soon in order to find a hotel within walking distance and easy access to the convention center, so you can sleep later after some exciting evenings in Toronto and still catch our morning sessions on the next day.
