The World Thrombosis Day campaign of the International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis (ISTH) earned top recognitions last week from the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) and the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA).

After previously awarding the ISTH’s World Thrombosis Day campaign with Gold Circle Awards in the categories of Integrated Communications Campaign and Media/Public Relations Campaign, ASAE presented the World Thrombosis Day project team with the Gold Circle Award for Overall Excellence, the organization's highest honor, on June 2.

Following the excitement of the ASAE award announcement, on June 4, the PRSA presented the World Thrombosis Day campaign with the coveted Silver Anvil Award under the category of Associations/Observances 1-7 Days and an Award of Excellence under the category of Public Service Campaign by Associations. For more than 60 years, the Silver Anvil Award has served as the industry’s most distinguished honor, recognizing the very best in public relations.

"I’m very proud of everyone who took part in year one of this program, especially our 200 global partner organizations from more than 50 countries and our dedicated sponsors," said Louise Bannon, director of marketing and membership for the ISTH. "Our incredible steering committee, along with the leadership of the ISTH, have provided ample support and continue to provide enthusiasm and excellent leadership to ensure the success of World Thrombosis Day around the globe. As the campaign continues to grow, the more lives we can help save and that is truly a rewarding feeling for us all.”
