Researches from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign received a Transformative Research Grant from the National Institutes of Health (NIH), a special award presented directly from the Office of the Director of the NIH. The project titled, "Toolkit for high-resolution structure and dynamics of functional lipids" will be led by ISTH members James Morrissey and Chad Reinstra as well as their colleague Emad Tajkhorshid.

This ambitious project aims to develop an innovative “toolkit” of high-resolution methods for the scientific community to use in solving the structures of lipids that regulate the biological functions of membranes.
