Journal of Thrombosis and Haemostasis (JTH) Editors Pieter Rietsma and Frits Rosendaal are highlighting three clinical studies that will be included in the March issue. Read their message below:

"There are three newsworthy clinical studies in the March issue of JTH. The first describes a successful clinical trial with a prolonged half-life factor VIII in patients with hemophilia A. The second study examines bleeding risk in terminally ill patients, and identifies cancer, recent bleeding, thromboprofylaxis and antiplatelet therapy as independent risk factors. The interaction between amiodarone, a class III antiarrythmic drug, and warfarin is the subject of the third study. This study concludes that close INR monitoring is required when initiating amiodarone in patients who are taking vitamin K antagonist."
