SSC Subcommittee on Women's Health Invites Participation in New Survey

The SSC Subcommittee on Women’s Health Issues in Thrombosis and Hemostasis invites physicians involved in the care of pregnant women with mechanical heart valves (MHVs) to participate in a new survey about anticoagulation choices in this setting.

Anticoagulation in pregnant women with MHVs is challenging since the maternal and fetus safety and efficacy of the current regimens has not been established in prospective randomized studies yet; and different guidelines recommend different anticoagulation regimens.

The goal of this survey is to gather information about physicians’ preferences of anticoagulation as the first step to inform a study design and engage potential investigators.
