The ISTH has endorsed the latest guidance published in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology: COVID-19 and Thrombotic or Thromboembolic Disease: Implications for Prevention, Antithrombotic Therapy, and Follow-up.

"This important and timely review clearly outlines the evidence showing how COVID-19 may predispose patients to venous and arterial thrombosis and provides guidance for patients with mild to severe COVID-19," said ISTH President Claire McLintock, M.D. "The ISTH emphatically endorses this guidance and encourages health providers to consider the diagnosis and prevention of thrombotic and thromboembolic disease in the management of COVID-19. We look forward to working collaboratively and internationally to address many knowledge gaps that remain in the diagnosis and treatment of COVID-19.”
