Application Criteria

  • The ISTH Education and Outreach Committee judges applications based on the following criteria:
  • Does it clearly state what the educational needs are?
  • Are the objectives of the course clearly defined?
  • Does it describe the course structure and topics in detail, and if so, are they appropriate?
  • Where will the course take place? Do people in that part of the world have access to similar courses?
  • Is there a good balance between course quality and budget?
  • Is the application clear, focused and well-organized?
  • Is it completely filled out?
  • Was the application submitted on time and in the requested format?
  • What are the applicant’s qualifications?

The committee will review applications as it receives them. It may contact applicants to ask more questions and/or to clarify certain points. The committee notifies applicants of its decision typically within one month after receiving an application.

Once an educational course is approved, the ISTH Education and Outreach Committee and the ISTH Office will assist local organizers with advice and guidance for a most successful implementation.
