ISTH Global Response to COVID-19

As the leading international society in thrombosis and hemostasis, the ISTH is committed to advancing the understanding, prevention, diagnosis and treatment of conditions related to the field. It is also dedicated to transformative scientific discoveries and clinical practices, which have been a priority as the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19) has spread rapidly around the world.

In response to COVID-19, the ISTH has rapidly responded by sharing open access educational resources related to COVID-19 and by pivoting from the traditional ISTH Congress to a virtual congress experience July 12-14, 2020. Furthermore, the World Thrombosis Day (WTD) campaign of the Society has provided public messaging from early in the pandemic to address questions from patients. This, combined with the oversight of the ISTH Rapid Response Task Force, has helped to inform COVID-19 related decisions including those related to studies, papers and registries. 

The ISTH and its members continue to make great inroads to better understanding COVID-19 and its impact on patients globally. United in spirit, the ISTH shares its immense appreciation for the outstanding efforts of those on the frontlines and to all members working to better understand and treat this pandemic.
