Early Career Committee Chair
Fellow at Geneva University Hospitals
Area of expertise: thrombosis in women and hospital prophylaxis
"Attending ISTH Congresses and participating in ISTH activities has inspired many connections with peers or leaders in the field of venous thromboembolism," says Marc. "I always come back from ISTH Congresses with fresh ideas for my own research. The ISTH brings together clinicians and scientists with an interest in thrombosis and hemostasis from around the world. What I particularly enjoy is that this community bonds together early career members to the leaders of our field."

Caterina Casari, Ph.D. (France)
Early Career Committee Vice Chair
Researcher at Inserm
Area of expertise: von Willebrand disease and other bleeding disorders
"Feeling part of a community is nice when there are people willing to share opinions, knowledge, perspectives and even doubts," Caterina says. "The ISTH community is approachable and is made of people with which you can personally interact. Congresses are definitely the first place to start new insightful relationships, especially in the early stages of our career. I think that getting involved is necessary but also rewarding because it facilitates new contacts."
